Here is a list and review of every book I've read starting May 1st 2025.
So this is my first time writing a book review so bare with me. Also my reading expierence with this book was hindered due to the fact that I had a depressive episode half way through the book and stopped reading and when I picked it up again I was a bit lost. BTW there may be spoilers in this review idk.
I really felt like that one meme with the two guys mining for diamonds while reading this book. The first time I tried to read it I stopped like 10 pages in cus it was too hard for me and then the second time yk. This book is really good. Great characters, great story, great dialogue great monologues. It was honestly facinating reading about a character who is the complete opposite of non-chalant about killing. Usually there's the cold blooded murderer or the murderer who loved the thrill of it or whatever but this feels more realistic y'know. Also I'd interesting seeing how differently mental health was addressed in a different culture- Raskolnikov (or however you spell his name) was doing shit that would get you thrown in a padded cell now a days but everyone was just like "oh I guess he's lost his mind haha." Same with Katerina Ivanovna.
Honestly this book stressed me out a little bit but that's how you know it's good writing. I felt like I was feeling everything Rodya was feeling while also questioning his sanity. I would give it five stars but it was a bit hard to follow (which is partially my fault) and hard to really get hooked on (also my fault (maybe kind of)). But yeah, I loved it, highly recomemd.
